The Prairie Building, one of Raleigh's oldest and most architecturally significant buildings, has been renovated for 11 apartments that will deliver modern conveniences and the ease of living in a downtown historic setting. Designed in the 1870s by prominent local architect Joseph P. Prairie, the building is located in the Moore Square historic district at 113 S. Wilmington Street, close to restaurants museums, parks, and public transportation.

Three two-bedroom and eight one-bedroom rental apartments are located on the second and third floors. In addition to the charm of a historic property with high ceilings and original wood floors, the apartments feature secure entrances, an intercom system, elevator access, and energy-efficient heating and air conditioning. All apartments have ample storage space, a full kitchen with refrigerator and stove, and cable TV hookups. There are laundry facilities on-site.

Income Limitations: Occupancy at Prairie is restricted to households with incomes of less than 60% of area median income.
