DHIC, Inc., a non-profit developer of affordable rental and homeownership opportunities serving the greater Research Triangle area, is pleased to announce the following recent grant awards from three of the area's largest financial institutions:
Bank of America Foundation, $15,000 -- Bruce Sharpe, Market President
RBC Bank, $10,000 – Verna Gessaman, Mgr of Contributions & Government Relations
Wachovia Foundation, $10,000 – Juan Austin, Community Affairs Manager
These contributions are coming at a very critical time for DHIC, which runs one of the largest and most comprehensive homebuyer education and counseling programs in Wake County. In a climate where both lenders and borrowers are feeling the crunch, these banking contributors have held their funding steady rather than reducing their charitable contributions to DHIC.
DHIC will use these funds to advance a number of community development goals, including serving more than 350 low- to moderate-income homebuyers and advancing a pipeline of more than 250 units of affordable housing.
